How It Works

We have worked hard to make ngohub.asia easy to use so more NGOs and individuals can benefit from this platform. It’s unique and innovative purpose requires an additional explanation on how to use it, so here is an overview of how the site works:

Register

You can view most of the pages on the site, but in order to view detailed information or to use the rich features of the site, you need to be logged-in as a registered member. We have 2 types of member registration on ngohub.asia; individual member and organisation member.

Individual member

  • As an individual member, you will be able to view details of volunteer positions, grants, events and organisations listed on this website.
  • You will be able to apply for volunteer positions or contribute to projects with 1-click buttons.
  • All you have to do is to go to the Sign-up page, enter required information, select “Individual Member” from the dropdown list and click on Sign-up!
  • Once you click sign-up button, a verification link will be sent to your e-mail address and after you verify the link (by clicking on it from your e-mail), your registration will be complete.
  • In purpose of data protection, no one will be able to search through more than 10 organizations per day.
  • Soon members will be able to login directly via Facebook Connect (coming soon!)

Organisation member

  • As an organisation member, you will be able to view details of volunteer positions, grants, events and organisations listed on this website.
  • You will be able to list new volunteer positions, projects and events via your dashboard.
  • All you have to do is to go to the Sign-up page, enter required information, select “organisation member” from the dropdown list and click on Sign-up!
  • You will be taken to a 2nd form where you will be required to fill up more information about your organisation, and attach a scanned ROS registration document so that we can verify and approve your account.
  • For a registered organisation, you can scan and attach your ROS registration in PDF, JPG or PNG format.
  • Once you sign-up, you will receive a phone call or a personal visit in purpose to verify your organization within 30 working days.
  • Once your organization gets verified, you will get a confirmation e-mail from our team.
  • In purpose of data protection, no one will be able to search through more than 10 organizations per day.

 

Applying for a volunteer position

You need to be logged-in as an individual member to apply for a volunteer position.

  • browse the “volunteer” section, click on “more info” to read the details of the position.
  • To apply, simply click on the “apply now” button below the description, click “Yes” to confirm and your application will be automatically sent to the organisation via e-mail.
  • Once you confirm your volunteer position interest, your profile information will go straight to the NGO’s e mail.
  • If you have any enquiries about the position, just click on the “enquiry” button to send a direct message to the organisation.

Contributing to a project

You need to be logged-in as an individual member to contribute to a project.

  • Browse the “grants” section, click on “more info” to read the details of the projects.
  • To contribute, simply click on the “contribute” button below the description, click “Yes” to confirm and your pledge will be automatically sent to the organisation via e-mail.
  • The organisation will then contact you directly to facilitate the contribution.
  • If you have any enquiries about the project, just click on the “enquiry” button to send a direct message to the organisation.

Events

You need to be logged-in as an individual member to view the events listed on the platform.

  • Browse the “events” section, click on “more info” to read the details of the events.
  • We do not provide an RSVP feature for the events listed on this site, but you can RSVP for the event if the organisation has provided a link to other sites such as Facebook Events, Eventbrite, etc.

Listing a new volunteer position

You need to be logged-in as an organisation member to list a new volunteer position.

  • Go to your member dashboard (top-right corner on the header) > Click on view more volunteer positions.
  • Click on “new listing” and fill up the form with all the details of the position offered.
  • You are allowed to list only positions offered by your own organisation.

Listing a new grant

You need to be logged-in as an organisation member to list a new grant.

  • Go to your member dashboard (top-right corner on the header) > Click view more grants.
  • Click on “new listing” and fill up the form with all the details of the required materials.
  • You are only allowed to request for material resources. Strictly no cash requests.
  • Once we receive the request, we will consult with the Verification Officer that visited you during your registration process and consult him about your inquiry.
  • Once your request is approved, the grant request will be published on the site for members to contribute.
  • You are allowed to list only projects  managed by your own organisation or team.

Listing a new event

You need to be logged-in as an organisation member to list a new event.

  • Go to your member dashboard (top-right corner on the header) > Click on view more events.
  • Click on “new listing” and fill up the form with all the details of the event.
  • If you need members to RSVP to your event, please create a separate RSVP page on Facebook Events, Eventbrite, etc and include the link in your form.
  • You are allowed to list only events organised by your own organisation or team.
